Vanilla Buttermilk Cake




Ingredients: 
Plain flour: 2 cups
Eggs: 4 nos
Vanilla essence: 11/2 tsp
Buttermilk: 1 cup
Sugar: 1 1/2 cup
Baking powder: 3 tsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Veg oil: 1/2 cup
Lemon juice: 3 tsp



Method:
Preheat the oven to 170 degree.  Grease the baking pan with butter or oil. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, Beat egg and sugar together with an electric mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Add vanilla essence, lemon juice, oil and buttermilk. Beat for another 2 minutes.  Add sifted flour to the batter, combine well with a wooden spoon. Pour batter into the greased pan, Bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer to a cooling rack.

  5. But isnt the baking powder quantity too much ?? Sorry to ask but i use 1 tsp per 2 cups of flour and the cakes turn out very fluffy.

  7. In the ingredients list couldn't find any butter but in the method its writtem "cream butter and sugar together", also didn't see when to add egg, pls chek.Tina
