Ingredients:
All-purpose flour: 2 cups
Eggs: 3 nos
Powdered sugar: 11/2 cup
Milk: 3/4 cup
Oil: 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence: 1/2 tsp
Baking powder: 1 1/2 tsp
Baking soda: 1/2 tsp
Cocoa powder: 2 tbsp
Salt: 1/4 tsp
Method
Sieve together all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda, keep aside. In a mixing bowl, mix sugar and egg, beat till smooth. Pour oil and vanila essence, beat well. Add the flour little by little, Add the milk and beat until the batter turns soft. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions, Keep one portion plain. Add cocoa powder into another and mix well. Preheat the oven to 180 degree C. Grease the pan with oil. First pour one big spoon of plain batter into the middle of the baking pan. Then pour a big spoon of cocoa batter on top of the plain batter. Continue alternating the batters until finish. Transfer the mixture to the pre heated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes. Insert a skewer into the center, if its come out clean, Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack.

ReplyDeleteJaisy,the cake looks so well done,I make the marble cake all the time,but I liked the Zebra pattern,I normally alternate the batters and then run a fork or knife thorugh them to give the marbled effect:) I am following your blog for many more interesting recipes from you,Cheers!!!

ReplyDeleteCan you believe it! I also made this cake last night (for hubby for valentines day) and he kept calling it marble cake :) and I kept calling it zebra cake.
